Obasanjo’s Wife Tells Court to Stop Son’s Wedding to Baba Ijebu’s Daughter

Taiwo Obasanjo, one of the wives of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has told the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja to stop the planned wedding of their son Olujonwo, to the daughter of lottery Billionaire, Kessington Adebutu, popularly known as “Baba Ijebu”.

The Punch writes that she prayed the court to stop the wedding fixed for May 11 and 12, 2017 because she had been excluded from the scheduling of the wedding.

Mrs. Obasanjo asked the court to postpone the wedding of Olujonwo, 33,  to Tope Adetutu because as the mother of the child she has parental rights to take part in the planning of the wedding.

She argued that she had a premonition regarding her son who will turn 34 on June 1, 2017, adding that she had received spiritual warnings that Olujonwo should not undergo any elaborate celebration before his 34th birthday. The wedding is presently fixed for two weeks before he turns 34.

Mrs. Obasanjo said the suit was meant to shift the wedding to a date beyond June 1, so as to avoid any impending calamity. She said she resorted to bringing the case to court after her plea to Adebutu and his wife, Rosemary was dismissed.

Justice Okunnu has fixed hearing in the suit marked, ID/262FPM/2017, for April 10, 2017. The respondents in the suit filed before Justice Lateefa Okunnu are Obasanjo and the father of the bride, Adebutu.

The family of the former President is not new in the area of throwing up messy scandals. His son had once accused him of sleeping with his wife. His daughter Iyabo has publicly disowned him. He has also been accused of wife battery by a former wife.
