Police Arrest 3 Suspects for Forgery of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s Signature

Vanguard reports that the Enugu State Police command has arrested three suspects over their alleged involvement in conspiracy and forgery of the official letterhead and signature of Enugu state Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

According to reports, the suspects created a cartel where unsuspecting job seekers pay huge sums of money for employment in  both the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital in Park Lane, and University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, in Ituku-Ozala. The suspects were said to have allegedly issued series of letters signed by Governor Ifeanyi – claiming they were from the Office of the Governor and using the letters to obtain employment for people in the teaching hospitals.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, stated that the syndicate had given employment to some victims of Account grade 11 level 7, Higher Executive Officer HEO level 8 as well as Chief Typist, CONTISS 8, step 13, among others.

The suspects, identified as Onuoha Gloria, Onwuameze Roseline and Thomas Nwigwe, are currently helping the police operatives in their investigations. The police has also placed a manhunt on a certain Chijioke Nzegwu for allegedly facilitating the illegal deal for two of the suspects.

Governor Ifeanyi is yet to comment on the case.
