The Ebonyi State police command, Tuesday, charged 92 members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB to court.

The suspects were arrested during yesterday’s Pro-Biafra protest marking the 49th anniversary of the defunct republic, Vanguard reports.

Recall that the suspects were arrested during their anniversary celebration in the state.

The Court premises was jam packed with heavily armed policemen to ensure law and order during the prosecution of those arrested.

The entire South East region was engulfed in protests by members of MASSOB and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leading to the death of a number of protesters and policemen.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Solomon Arase, has ordered the disarmament of members IPOB following the Biafra anniversary skirmishes, and warned that the police would spare nothing in dealing with all threats to internal security.
