Shuaibu Ibrahim will definitely be living a nightmare at the moment.

The 19 year-old Nigerian striker plays for Haugesund in the Norwegian top flight and has had rave reviews about his talents. But he’s just had a moment that may hunt him for the rest of his playing days.

Sadly for the young striker, he may very well be remembered for the ‘miss of the century’ far worse that Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s at the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The video comes for Haugesund’s recent match against Lillestrom. With Haugesund 2-1 up, the ball is played across goal to Ibrahim who was three yards out.

The goal is gaping. There’s no-one near him. Your Grandma – literally, your elderly, frail grandmother – could stumble the ball into the goal.

And yet, somehow, Ibrahim finds a way to play the ball wide.

But when it rains it pours, as the striker has now realized. If he’s scored, his team would have been 3-1 up and out of sight. Instead, the game eventually ended 2-2.

It’s better not to try and guess the reaction from his teammates after the match…
