1 Division Conducts Special Juma’at Service For Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day

In a bid to honour serving and fallen heroes of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), the Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA) organised a Special Jumu’at Service for officers and men in recognition of their selfless service to the nation.

The prayer session, which took place on Friday at the Division’s Central Mosque RibaduCantonment, Kaduna, was attended by senior military officers, government officials, and other distinguished guests.

In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr Abubakar Buba, who represented the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, CON, stated that the Kaduna State Government joined the Armed Forces in recognising and appreciating the sacrifices of military personnel, particularly the fallen heroes who paid the supreme price so that others may live in peace.

Similarly, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Maj General Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Wase was represented by Brigadier General Muhammad Lawal, noted that the special Jumu’at Service was significant in further acknowledging the sacrifices of troops on the frontline. He added that the prayer session also served as a reassurance to the families of fallen heroes that their loved ones are remembered and honoured.

In his sermon, the Imam, Lieutenant Abdulmumin Mohammed, emphasised the need to continually remember and pray for military personnel who laid down their lives to ensure peace and security, enabling citizens to go about their lawful activities without fear.

Dignitaries at the event Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, the Commander 453 Base Services Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Principal Staff Officers and Formation Commanders of the Division, heads of paramilitary agencies, members of the Nigerian Legion, members of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), and other invited guests.
