
1 Division Nigerian Army Commissions New Soldiers’ Accommodation At Ribadu Cantonment
In a significant boost to personnel welfare, the Nigerian Army 1 Division on Friday, 6 March 2026, officially “marched-in” soldiers into the newly constructed accommodation block at Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna State. The project was funded by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu. This is furtherance to his Command Philosophy and the “Soldier First Culture” which prioritises troop welfare as critical drivers of operational efficiency.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadique Muhammad Wase, who was represented by the Commanding Officer of the Administration Battalion, 1 Division Garrison, Lieutenant Colonel RO Ejoor.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Lieutenant Colonel Ejoor emphasized the importance of a strong maintenance culture. He strictly warned against illegal electricity connections or any activities that could lead to the deterioration of the state-of-the-art facility.
He further cautioned that any personnel found defaulting on maintenance standards or damaging the property would be sanctioned.
Major General Wase further expressed his profound gratitude to the COAS, noting that such infrastructure projects are vital for maintaining the “fighting efficiency” and psychological readiness of troops engaged in various Nigerian Army Theatres of operations across the country.
The ceremony concluded with the formal presentation of keys to the soldiers, marking their official transition into the new living quarters.
