1 Division Nigerian Army Hosts Officer Cadets of 72nd Regular Course, Fosters Stronger Ties with Nigerian Defence Academy
Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army hosted Army Cadets of 72nd Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna who came on study visit to the Division on Monday, 13th January 2025. The delegation which was led by the Academy Chief Instructor (Army), Colonel MS Jafar, were received by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso in the Division’s Auditorium at Kawo, Kaduna.
The visit was aimed at familiarizing the final year Cadets of the Defence Academy with the organizational structure, roles, and operational functions of the premier Division of the Nigerian Army. The GOC who warmly received the cadets reaffirmed the long-standing relationship existing between the Division and the NDA.
In his remarks, Major General Saraso emphasized the significance of the visit, describing it as a crucial step in building professional knowledge and preparing the cadets for future leadership roles. “This opportunity is a privilege, and it serves as a foundation for developing your skills as future leaders of the Nigerian Army,” he stated. The GOC furtherr encouraged the cadets to fully embrace the learning experience and remain committed to upholding the values and traditions of the Nigerian Army.
In his vote of thanks, Cadet Senior Under Officer (CSUO) SK Aliyu expressed gratitude to the GOC for the warm reception accorded them and assured that the knowledge gained would be effectively applied.
The event featured a presentation on the organization, roles and responsibilities of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army as well as static display of weapons and equipments of the various Support Formations under the Division held at the 2 Battalion Parade Ground in Ribadu Cantonment Kaduna. There were also exchange of souvenirs and group photographs.
