A group under the aegis of North Central Coalition for Leadership, on Thursday , insisted that the zone should be allowed to produce the President come 2023 in the interest of equity and justice.
This was contained in a statement, signed by the group’s Director General, Williams Oluwatoyin after a meeting held in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Thursday.
He expressed regret that the zone which has been the political stabiliser between the North and South has been left out of the power equation since the democratic dispensation began in 1999.
Oluwatoyin noted that the North Central has remained the only zone that has not produced either the president or vice president since Nigeria independence.
He added that the North Central zone with highly intelligent and hardworking citizens has not been given the opportunity to rule the country under a democratic setting “despite the quantum contributions of her citizens under the military regimes.”
He urged other zones to rise up in support of the North Central zone to produce the next president.
