
6 Brigade, Other Security Agencies Patrol Jalingo Ahead Of TARAVEST 2025
In preparation for the forthcoming Taraba International Investment Summit (TARAVEST 2025), scheduled to commence on 21 May 2025, troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army / Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with other security agencies, conducted a robust show of force across Jalingo metropolis today, 20 May 2025.
The exercise which featured a coordinated long range patrols along strategic routes and critical areas within the state capital, was aimed at reinforcing public confidence, deterring criminal elements, and demonstrating the high level of synergy among security agencies operating in Taraba State.
TARAVEST 2025 is expected to host high profile dignitaries, including foreign delegations, diplomats, local and international investors, and top officials from both Federal and State Governments. The joint show of force is part of proactive measures to ensure a peaceful, secure, and conducive environment ahead of the international event.
Addressing the troops onbehalf of other heads of security agencies present after the successful exercise, the Commander 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended all participating personnel for their discipline, professionalism and cooperation throughout the exercise. He urged them to sustain momentum and remain vigilant, committed and professional before, during and after the summit. “The peaceful and successful conduct of this summit is of national interest. Your conduct so far has been commendable, I urge you to continue displaying high standards of discipline and joint spirit as we carry out our constitutional duties,” the Commander stated.
The exercise witnessed strong participation from personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Department of State Services (DSS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and other relevant agencies. It emphasized the readiness and unity of purpose among the security agencies/ services in addressing any threats to peace and public order.
The Nigerian Army, in synergy with other security agencies, remains fully committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all residents and guests attending TARAVEST 2025. Citizens are encouraged to remain security conscious and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
