
Chief Of Naval Staff Commissions Special Intervention Quick Impact Project For Bayelsa Community
On Tuesday 20 May 2025, a Solar-Powered Industrial Borehole and a 70,000-litre overhead tank was commissioned in Diebu Community, Southern-Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State. The commissioning came under the auspices of the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project (CNS- QIP). The CNS-QIP was initiated by the CNS, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla to undertake projects that will improve the Navy’s Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) efforts nationwide. This particular project was facilitated by Rear Admiral DF Matthew to give back to his community and improve the lives of the residents.
In his remarks, Rear Admiral Matthew thanked the Chief of the Naval Staff for inspiring this Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, of which Diebu community is a major beneficiary. He emphasized that the water project aligns with the Chief of the Naval Staff vision of fostering security and development through strong relationships with civilians.
Lastly, the CNS who was represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Ahmad A Gaya said that the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, launched the Special Quick Intervention Project in 2024 to facilitate the Nigerian Navy’s CIMIC mandate and contribute to the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.These projects demonstrate NN’s commitment to serving Nigerians beyond physical security, honouring its accomplished Senior Officers, and fostering community development.
