
Commander Infantry Corps, Senior Army Officers Pay Condolence Visit To Family Of Late Maj Gen SBS Biliyork
The Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Godwin Mutkut, alongside other formation commanders within Kaduna State, on 24 February 2026 paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Major General SBS Biliyork (Rtd), former Commander Infantry Corps, at his residence in Barnawa, Kaduna State.
During the visit, Major General Mutkut expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the late senior officer, describing the loss as a painful one not only to the family but also to the Nigerian Army and the nation at large. He conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, while praying that Almighty God grants the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grants the departed eternal rest.
The Commander Infantry Corps noted that the late Major General Biliyork lived an exemplified life of service, discipline and dedication, principles that align with the core values of the Nigerian Army. He encouraged the family to take solace in the worthy legacy of honour, professionalism and commitment he left behind.
Responding on behalf of the family, the wife of the late Major General SBS Biliyork expressed profound appreciation to the Commander Infantry Corps and the accompanying commanders for the show of love, concern and solidarity during their moment of grief, describing the visit as a great source of comfort and strength. The visit concluded with prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased and the signing of the condolence register.
