
Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command Hosts Iftar To Promote Unity and Morale Among Ratings
The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Chidozie Okehie, on Friday, 6 March 2026, hosted an Iftar and breaking of fast with ratings at the Headquarters Eastern Naval Command, fostering unity, spiritual reflection and Command cohesion during the Lenten Season and the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The gathering, held at the Command Swimming Pool site, brought together Christian and Muslim personnel in an atmosphere of fellowship and inclusivity while reinforcing the Nigerian Navy’s welfare-driven leadership philosophy and unity of purpose across rank structures.
The event was attended by senior officers including the Commandant Naval War College Nigeria, Rear Admiral Mohammed Muye, Chief Staff Officer Rear Admiral Stephen Ibrahim, Fleet Commander Eastern Fleet Commodore Abubakar Umar, Commander Fleet Support Group Commodore E Chinaka, Command Administrative Officer Commodore Omobamidele Akinbami and other Principal Staff Officers of the Command.
Personnel were also treated to meals and refreshments, making the occasion both spiritually uplifting and socially engaging.
