Nigerian Air Force Officers Advance National Health Security At Eyeball Summit
Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers participated in the Second Edition of the Eyeball Summit convened by the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria, a strategic forum designed to bring together leaders, innovators, investors, regulators, and practitioners within the eye health ecosystem. The summit provided a valuable platform for meaningful dialogue and collective action aimed at strengthening eye care delivery across the country, while highlighting the broader link between health outcomes, operational readiness, and national development. The presence of NAF personnel underscored the Service’s growing commitment to supporting multidisciplinary initiatives that enhance human security.
Deliberations at the summit, themed “Reimagining Eye Care in Nigeria: Driving Innovation, Expanding Access, and Securing the Future of Vision,” reflected the increasing global recognition of eye health as a critical component of public health, economic productivity, and social wellbeing. Nigerian Air Force officers contributed professional insights on the importance of visual health in sustaining mission effectiveness and safeguarding personnel welfare, particularly in demanding operational environments. Their engagement further highlighted the Service’s resolve to support national efforts aimed at addressing preventable vision impairment and expanding access to quality eye care services for millions of Nigerians.
The participation of NAF officers aligns with the professional vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who continues to promote a culture of excellence, inter-agency collaboration, and holistic personnel development within the Service. Through sustained involvement in strategic national platforms, the Nigerian Air Force remains steadfast in advancing professionalism while contributing meaningfully to initiatives that strengthen national resilience and promote sustainable development.
