Nigerian Air Force Advances Operational Edge With Dual Air Power Training Graduation

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre (AWDC), has reinforced its commitment to operational excellence with the successful graduation of participants from the Air Campaign Planning Course and the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Operations Management Course. The ceremony, held on 24 April 2026, brought together senior officers, instructors, and participants from across NAF units, marking the completion of intensive, mission-focused training designed to enhance effectiveness in modern, multi-domain operational environments.

Delivering the remarks, the Special Guest of Honour, Air Vice Marshal PN Amadi, urged the graduates to translate acquired knowledge into operational impact, serving as force multipliers within their respective units. He emphasized the critical role of jointness, interconnectivity, and continuous professional development in addressing evolving security challenges. Certificates were subsequently presented to the participants, who expressed appreciation to the Centre and reaffirmed their readiness to contribute meaningfully to national and coalition operations.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commandant AWDC, Air Vice Marshal Garba Jibia, commended the officers for their discipline and resilience throughout the two-week programme. He highlighted that the Air Campaign Planning Course enhanced participants’ capacity to plan and execute air operations at the operational level, while the ISR Operations Management Course strengthened their ability to integrate intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities into joint missions. He stressed that the evolving character of warfare demands precision, coordination, and information dominance, noting that the training will significantly improve decision-making and mission effectiveness. The milestone further underscores the Centre’s pivotal role in advancing air power doctrine, strengthening interoperability, and sustaining operational excellence in line with global best practices.
