Adeleke University Seeks Strategic Partnership With Nigerian Army Resource Centre On Security Studies and Capacity Development

The representative of the Vice-Chancellor of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, Dr Mary Lewu, on Tuesday 28 April 2026, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General J G K Myam (rtd) OFR, at the Boardroom of TY Buratai Block, Asokoro, Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, Dr Mary Lewu stated that the purpose was to explore areas of collaboration between Adeleke University and the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, particularly in the development of security-related academic programmes. She explained that the proposed partnership would include the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for diploma courses spanning three to nine months, to be delivered through a hybrid model, with the Centre serving as a venue for revision sessions and examinations.

She further highlighted plans for student internship opportunities, joint conferences and academic engagements, with a focus on areas such as cybersecurity studies and civil-military relations. According to her, the University is keen on building a robust partnership with the Centre to strengthen training and research in security studies.

In his response, the Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General J G K Myam (rtd) OFR, welcomed the delegation and commended the initiative. He affirmed the Centre’s commitment to enhancing human capacity development and advancing research, expressing readiness to collaborate with Adeleke University through the proposed MoU for mutual benefit.

The visit concluded with the signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs and a group photograph.
