Nigerian Army School Of Infantry Hosts Study Tour, Reinforces Logistics-Infantry Synergy For Operational Dominance

As part of the structured training curriculum for students of Junior Logistics and Staff Officers Course (JLSOC) 5/2026 at the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), Lagos, the students and members of directing staff conducted a strategic study visit to the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) on Friday, 1 May 2026. The team was led by the Deputy Commandant NACOLM and Director of Studies, Brigadier General Sylvester Anyogo.

Addressing the students, the Commandant NASI, Major General Frank Sunday Etim underscored the operational indispensability of logistics, emphasizing that sustained combat effectiveness is fundamentally anchored on robust logistical frameworks. Major General Etim asserted that no mission achieves success without deliberate prioritization of logistics support, urging the students to uphold uncompromising discipline and professionalism. He further charged them to function as force multipliers within various theatres of operation, noting that junior commanders remain pivotal to mission accomplishment and battlefield success.

Earlier, the Training Team Leader (TTL) and Chief Instructor, Special Warfare Wing (SWW), Colonel Mohammed Marwa, delivered a comprehensive brief on the organizational structure and training mandate of NASI. He highlighted the institution’s multi-wing configuration, contingency training packages, as well as specialized courses executed in line with directives from Army Headquarters (AHQ). Colonel Marwa emphasized NASI’s strategic role in developing combat-ready personnel, capable of executing infantry tactics, maneuver warfare, and joint operations at optimum efficiency when called upon.

The visit featured a tactical static display of infantry platoon and support weapons, complemented by a detailed practical exposition on Nigerian Army infantry organization from individual rifleman to battalion level force structure. The demonstration showcased available combat platforms and support weapons across all echelons, culminating in a live firepower demonstration from section through battalion level. The students were also afforded hands-on familiarization with selected weapon systems, enhancing experiential learning.

High point of the study tour was a robust interactive session, coordinated infantry firepower demonstration, signing of visitors register and exchange of souvenirs.
