NAOWA Hosts Eid-El-Kabir Celebration For Armour Corps Families Pledges Stronger Family Support

The Coordinator, Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Bauchi State Chapter, Mrs Fatimah Shettia Abubakar, hosted Eid-El-Kabir celebration for the wives, children, widows and orphans of Nigerian Army Armoured Corps personnel serving in Bauchi. The event took place on Thursday, 28 May 2026, at the Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya Auditorium and underscored NAOWA’s commitment to family welfare and unity within the Armour community.

Mrs Abubakar said the gathering was organized to celebrate Eid-El-Kabir with Armour families and to strengthen bonds among them. She thanked the Commander Armoured Corps, Major General Umar Abubakar for giving them the opportunity to host the event. The event was opened with prayers led by both Christian and Muslim faithful.

Addressing the attendees, Mrs Abubakar urged families to continue supporting their spouses with love and prayers. She noted that the sacrifices of military personnel require strong family backing and understanding.

She reaffirmed that NAOWA remains dedicated to improving the welfare of soldiers’ families including widows and orphans through empowerment programmes, educational support and social activities that foster unity. She added that the National President NAOWA, Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, is focused on building a united and innovative association.

Several personnel wives expressed appreciation to NAOWA for the initiative, describing the celebration as memorable and uplifting for both mothers and children.

The Sallah celebration highlighted NAOWA’s ongoing role in boosting the wellbeing and morale of families within the Nigerian Army Armour community.
