Nigerian Army and NYSC Bond Inseparable Says GOC 3 Division

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), Major General Maxwell Dangana, on Thursday, 27 August 2026, received the Plateau State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Jonathan Iliya Yavala and his entourage during a courtesy visit to the Headquarters 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.

Speaking during the visit, the GOC expressed appreciation to the NYSC management for the visit and described the relationship between the Nigerian Army and the NYSC as inseparable. He highlighted the critical role played by the Nigerian Army in supporting the training and orientation of Corps Members, particularly in areas that contribute to discipline, security awareness and national development.

Major General Dangana also commended Members of the NYSC serving within 3 Division for their dedication, hard work and positive contributions to their host communities. He appreciated the State Coordinator for his cooperation, while reaffirming his commitment to strengthening the existing cordial relationship and collaboration between the two organisations.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Jonathan Iliya Yavala, expressed appreciation to the GOC for granting the delegation the opportunity to pay the courtesy visit. He commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their sacrifices, dedication and commitment to maintaining peace and security within their areas of responsibility.

Mr Iliya congratulated Major General Dangana on his appointment as GOC 3 Division and Commander OPEP. while reaffirming the NYSC’s resolve to further strengthen its partnership and collaboration with the Division in the interest of national unity, peace and development.
