
Acting GOC 7 Division Visits Frontline Troops Of 151 Task Force Battalions, Motivates Them, Assesses Their Combat Readiness
In continuation with his operational visits, display of exemplary leadership traits and show of solidarity, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu has visited troops of 151 and 152 unde 21 Special Amoured Brigade deployed at Banki junction, Darel Jemel, Miyanti, Bula Yobe, Banki and FOB Kumshe.He equally visited 7 Div Boat Company deployed at Aloa Dam. Addressing troops of Forward Operation Base Kumshe, the GOC stated that the visit was a follow up to his operational visit to units within Sector 1 AOR. He commended the bravery of the troops and their unwavering commitment and dedication to duty in the ongoing fight against the terrorists.
On arrival, the GOC was received and conducted around where he assessed the combat readiness as well as equipment deployed and their serviceability. The GOC emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and discipline in the face of adversity, urging them to remain steadfast, focused and committed to their duties, assuring them that their efforts are being noticed by the military commands and the country as a whole. His words of encouragement were met with enthusiasm and determination, as the troops reaffirmed their unalloyed loyalty, commitment, and renewed vigour in combating the terrorists.
The GOC while addressing the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid Force (HF), he emphasized the need for continuous synergy which he says will help in combating the menace of terrorism thereby achieving the mandate of the operation. He further commended the efforts of CJTF, HF and other stakeholders for their invaluable contributions towards achieving the overall objective. He urged them to keep providing military with relevant information that would aid our operations in the theatre. Stressing that the military would continue to work with all the relevant stakeholders towards achieving a lasting and sustainable peace.
Furthermore, the GOC assured the troops of all necessary support to enhance their operational effectiveness in line with the Chief of Army Staff ‘s Soldier First Concept, emphasizing that they would be provided with all required logistics support to enable them to win battles in all fronts. This singular gesture was a significant morale booster, as the troops felt valued by their commander.
The GOC donated military kits (uniforms) , ammunition amongst other logistics support and combat enablers which boosted the troops morale. He reiterates the military’s commitment to defeating the insurgents and restoring peace to the region and the country at large.
