I would like to make certain recommendations as well as exhortations to the new 2,000 Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics Course 15 who passed out from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Academy on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the academy located in Katon Rikkos in Jos, Plateau State.
I am assured that everything I am about to share with you was imparted to you by the NDLEA, yet there are many things I want to encourage you to do and resist.
First, you must purge corruption from your minds and believe that the chores you are about to begin are for the betterment of your country. Because corruption is one of the primary elements for Nigeria’s frighteningly high rate of decline.
Sadly, the country is one of Africa’s major transit points for heroin and cocaine intended for European, East Asia, and North American markets. I presume you are well aware of the atrocities that occur in this country, 75 per cent of which can be attributed to drug abuse. Why? Because almost all of the tragic events have young people (drug addicts) at the forefront instigating them.
As a result, you need to maintain a proactive stance and strive tirelessly to prevent your cherished country from being completely imperilled (God forbid)!
