Africa Anti-corruption Day: Magu Charges Masses to Expose, Hold Leaders Accountable

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Mustapha Magu on Thursday, July 11, 2019, charged Nigerians to expose and hold public officials accountable for their stewardship and not to see the fight against corruption from any self serving point of view.

“Unless and until Nigerians determine to expose and hold public officials accountable for their stewardship and not appreciate the fight against corruption from ethnic, political and religious perspective, the war might never be won even if battles are won.”

He declared. Magu, who was represented by the Zonal Head, South East Zonal office of the EFCC, Usman Imam, stated this in an address to round off a Road Walk Against Corruption organised by the Enugu Zonal Office of Commission to commemorate the 3rd African Anti-Corruption day with the theme: “Towards a Common African Position on Asset Recovery.”
