African CSOs Affirm President Tinubu’s Leadership With A Vote Of Confidence

President Bola Tinubu can take Nigeria to new heights, according to the African Civil Society Forum (AFRICSOF), a forum for African civil society organizations.

At a news conference on Friday in Abuja, the president of AFRICSOF, Tunji Asaolu, stated that some of Mr. Tinubu’s initiatives had helped the nation move in the direction of growth and development.

President Tinubu has recently taken a number of wise decisions, thus we would want to express our support for him through this means.

He said that since taking office, Mr. Tinubu’s initiatives have set Nigeria “on a smooth path to positive growth and development.”

“This is a clear indication that his victory at the polls is well deserved and timely,” he continued.

The deputy secretary-general of the International Society of Diplomats (ISD) for African Affairs, Mr. Asaolu, voiced worry about the officers in the 10th Senate, adding that genuine candidates should be taken into consideration.

He suggested that Nigeria’s geopolitical zones be reflected in the positions of the other four primary officers, including Senate Leader, Deputy Senate Leader, Chief Whip, and Deputy Whip.

To encourage equal representation in the Senate, Mr. Asaolu proposed that the slots be divided among the North-Central, North-West, South-East, and North-East geopolitical zones.

“We, however, appeal that the Senate Leader position should be zoned to the South-West in the spirit of equity, fairness, and justice,” he stated.
