Air Force War College Kicks Off Air War Course 12/2026 With Strategic Inaugural Lecture On Operational Warfare

The Air Force War College has commenced Air War Course 12/2026 with a strategic inaugural lecture titled “Optimizing Operational-Level Warfare Training for Enhanced National Security,” delivered by the representative of the Honourable Minister of Defence, Major General Isandy BC Musa (Rtd). The lecture set the intellectual tone for the course, underscoring the centrality of operational-level thinking in addressing contemporary and complex security challenges.

In his remarks, the Commandant, Air Force War College, Air Vice Marshal GA Mbaka, reaffirmed the College’s role as the apex professional military education institution of the Nigerian Air Force. He emphasised the critical importance of operational-level training, joint planning, leadership development, and the effective integration of air power in confronting Nigeria’s evolving security environment, noting that modern conflict demands adaptive leaders capable of synchronising air and joint capabilities for decisive outcomes.

Air War Course 12/2026 has 47 participants drawn from the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, and allied countries, including Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, and Morocco. The course is designed to deepen operational competence, strengthen strategic thinking, and enhance joint and multinational cooperation in support of Nigeria’s national security and broader regional stability objectives.
