
Algerian War College Delegation Visits Naval Headquarters
On Tuesday 20 May 2025, a delegation from Algerian War College (AWC) led by the Head Nuclear Biology Chemical, Major General Baouche Amirouche visited the Naval Headquarters Abuja as part of its tour of Nigeria. The purpose of the visit is to enable the participants conduct research on area regarding awareness on military education and training system, exchange of expertise in the field of Security/Defence College and Schools. The delegation was briefed by the Commandant Naval War College Nigeria, Rear Admiral AO Olodude on Military Education in the Nigerian Navy: Naval War College Nigeria (NWCN) in Focus. The AWC hopes to work out modalities in area of joint training with NWCN in future.
In his remarks, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla who was represented by the Chief of Training (COT), Rear Admiral CE Atebi appreciated the delegation for choosing the Nigerian Navy (NN) as part of its study tour of Nigeria. He highlighted the various training programme of the NN, efforts of the NN in actualising CNS vision towards emplacing formidable modalities for training its personnel in order to combat asymmetric and emerging security threats in both the maritime environment and land based operations. Other areas the COT highlighted includes establishment of NN Special Operations Command in support of other Sister Services as well as NN ship building capability among others.
