Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce drama is getting messier by the day.
According to new reports, the 41-year-old actress has decided to quit the role of director for a movie which also features Brad Pitt. The estranged couple were set to start work on a $110million biopic film titled Africa sometime next year, however Angelina is said to have opted out of the whole project.
Angelina really wants NOTHING to do with Brad Pitt, as she’s shockingly quit a passion project the two had lined up together. She was set to direct him in the $110 epic film ‘Africa’ and has now pulled out of the project after filing for divorce from the actor. Keep reading for the details.
The fallout from Angelina Jolie‘s bombshell divorce filing from Brad Pitt, 52, is affecting more than just their personal relationship. Now she’s quit the sweeping drama that the two have been championing for years! She was set to direct the $110 million film Africa, about renown paleo-archaeologist and conservationist Dr. Richard Leakey, 71, who would be played by Brad. But a new report says she’s just dropped the film like she dropped her husband!
“This movie has been a nightmare to get off the ground from the beginning. Until the last few weeks Angelina was resolute in her intent to get it made, but now she doesn’t want to direct it at all,” a source close to producer Jon Peters, who was working on the film along with the couple told Heat Street.
“Brad Pitt was still interested in acting in the movie — for him it was Seven Years in Tibet set in Africa and he wasn’t ready to give up on it. But Angelina now doesn’t want to have any kind of relationship with him, personal or professionally,” they add. Wow, after working so hard all these years to get the epic project done, she’s now totally walking away because of Brad. Man, when Angelina decides to end things, she definitely goes scorched Earth about it.
Reports are Brad Pitt, on the other hand, still expressed interest in acting in the movie but Angelina has made it clear she no longer wants any kind of relationship with him anymore.
The movie, which is based on the life of renowned paleo-archaeologist and conservationist Dr. Richard Leakey, was reportedly a passion project for the couple and they even established a relationship with Richard Leakey who gave them his approval for the production.
Africa was initially set to go into production after Jolie and Pitt wrapped their movie By The Sea, which was the couple’s highly anticipated second collaboration together after Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Angelina filed for divorce from Brad on Monday, 19 September, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple were together for 12 years.
