APC Sets Up National Convention Committee
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up a 69-member National Convention Committee headed by Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State.
This was contained in a statement Sunday by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sen. Osita Izunaso, with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State as deputy chairman, while Sen. Ben Uwajumogu will serve as member and secretary, Daily Trust writes.
Members of the committee include Sen. Ken Nnamani, governors Rochas Okorocha (Imo) Kashim Shettima (Borno) Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina) Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) Ibrahim Gaidam (Yobe) Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) Simon Lalong (Plateau) Bindow Jibrilla (Adamawa) Yahaya Bello (Kogi) and Godwin Obaseki (Edo).
Others are Senators Sani Yerima, Adamu Aliero, Danjuma Goje, Abdullahi Adamu, George Akume, Chris Ngige, Ibrahim Gobir, Ovie Omo Agege, Andrew Uchendu, Abdullahi Danbaba, Baba Kaka, and John Enoh. Also on the list are, Femi Gbajabiamila, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Chief Orji Kalu, Chief Niyi Adebayo, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani and Alhaji Abubakar Baraju.
Others are, Kawu Labaran, Saed Fijabi, Barinada Mpigi, Abubakar Mariki, Lawal Garba, Tony Nwoye, Emmanuel Udenge, Chief Chris Ibe, Chief Nsima Ekere, Alh. Adamu Idris, Chief Ede Eze, Chief Preye Aganaba, Chief Derin Adebiyi, Engr. Sale Mamman and Israel Famurewa.
Women are represented by Sen. Binta Garba, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Mrs Paullen Talen, Florence Ita Giwa, Hadiza Bala Usman, Rabi Ishaq, Maureen Tamuno, and Mrs Teresa Kadiri.
Representing the youths are Ismaeel Ahmed, Marvin Yobana, Elvis Asoro, Paul Chukwuma, Suleiman Talba, Risola Abiola, Zahra Danejo Umar, and Mac Obi.
Persons with Disabilities (PWD) are represented by, Danjuma Attah, David Lalu and Jaja Opago, the APC Coalition of Support Group has Amb. Lawal Munir and Mazi Peter Okoroafor as representatives.
There are indications that the elective national convention may hold on May 16, 2018, although this is yet to be confirmed.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party had approved waiver for the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and other NWC members to contest for another term at the national convention.
