Army, Air Force Renew Synergy with EFCC

Commander, 3 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Bukavu Barracks, Brigadier General Musa Abubakar and Commander, 455 Nigerian Airforce Base, Kano, Group Captain Mustapha Suleiman have expressed strong support for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in its crusade against economic and financial crimes and other acts of corruption.

They gave their support separately in Kano on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 while playing hosts to the Kano Zonal Director of the EFCC, CE Ibrahim Shazali who paid them courtesy visits.

Abubakar noted that the society had become complex and dynamic making it imperative for law enforcement agencies to work more closely together to achieve their respective mandates.

”The society is so dynamic, the challenges are so enormous, and so unique. So, we need that collaboration with each other. Without collaboration among law enforcement and security agencies, we cannot achieve our constitutional mandates”, he said.

He pointed out that, “before now, in the Army, we always think that we know it all, that we can do it alone, but with the current strides of crime, we have realized now that in order to achieve our goals, synergy and collaboration with other agencies is not only needed but compulsory”.

At the Airforce Base, Suleiman lauded the achievements of the EFCC since its establishment stressing that the Commission has achieved its mandate
”It is there for everyone to see. All the mandates as contained in the EFCC Establishment Act, 2004 Act, has been efficiently achieved by the Commission through sheer demonstration of valor and commitment”, he said.

In his remarks, Shazali appreciated the Army and Air Force Commanders and reiterated the commitment of the EFCC to inter-agency collaboration. He attributed the relative peace and security in Kano to the unhindered collaboration among all the security agencies in the state. ‘’One of the major reasons why there is peace in Kano, is because of the collaboration among the relevant law enforcement agencies in the state”, he said.
