Army Flags Off Exercise Still Waters III To Address Myriad Security Challenges In Akwa Ibom State
In line with the Army Headquarters directives, the Commander, 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General KE Chigbu has flagged off Exercise STILL WATERS III in Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State to address security challenges during the festive period.
Brigadier General KE Chigbu during the flag off stated that, the exercise was designed to practice security personnel in the state, on the rudiments of joint operations to strengthen the existing synergy between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the conduct of internal seecurity operations in a riverine environment.
He further stated that the exercise will specifically target criminal elements and threats relating to insurgency, militancy, cultism, kidnapping, illegal oil bunkering among other forms of criminality through the yuletide season in support of the State and the country at large.
Brigadier General chigbu also noted that the exercise will commence with training exercises before dovetailing into real-time intelligence led operations against criminal elements across the state.
The exercise was hitch free and had in attendance the Chief of Staff, Headquarters 2 Brigade, Col M Uba, Commander, 2 Brigade Garrison, Lt Col U Adamu, Commanding Officers, staff officers of the Brigade, senior officers and sister security agencies.
