After 52 days in captivity, 32 of the remaining 63 Bethel Baptist students, Kaduna released by their captors.
They were released on Friday.
The students numbering 121, according to the President, Baptist Conference, who’s also the proprietor of the school, Rev. Ishaya Jangado, were kidnapped by bandits in the early hours of July 5, 2021, at the school premises along the Kaduna-Kachia high way Damishi in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
On July, 25, after spending 20 days in the kidnappers’ den, the first batch of 28 students were released.
Also, on August 19, 2021, no fewer than 15 students, according to the Kaduna State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. John Hayab, were released by the bandits on health grounds.

The release of the Baptist students came in less than 15 hours after the abducted pupils of Tanko Salihu Islamic School, Tegina, in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, regained their freedom from their captors.
The Chairman, Kaduna state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. John Hayab, confirmed the development.
According to Hayab, the children look feeble, sick, and malnourished.
The children were said to have since been handed over to their parents.
With the release of the 32 by the bandits, 31 are still in captivity while 90 have been released by the bandits so far.
