Miss Sadau was expelled from the Hausa film industry earlier this month by the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria after featuring in a romantic musical video because of her “immoral” behaviour. Rahama Sadau caused offence by “hugging and cuddling” pop star Classiq in a video, it added.
They regard it as taboo for men and women to hold hands or kiss in public.
The Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN), who placed the ban on the actress, sighted ‘immorality’ as the reason for her expulsion in a video with Classiq, in a song entitled I Love You.
Kannywood, has been under fire from conservative Muslim clerics who accuse it of corrupting people’s values.
