Brazilian Navy Ship Defensora Strengthens Maritime Partnership With Nigeria

On Friday 6 June 2025, the Brazilian Navy Ship (BNS) DEFENSORA hosted a distinguished cocktail reception on board, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing maritime cooperation between Brazil and Nigeria. The event brought together senior Naval Officers, diplomats and other esteemed guests to celebrate traditional naval collaboration.

The reception was honoured by the presence of the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral MG Oamen. He was accompanied by the Command Operations Officer, Commodore A Muhammad, along with other senior officers from the Western Naval Command and members of the diplomatic community.

Guests enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Brazilian Navy, showcased through a delightful selection of Brazilian cuisine and cultural heritage. The evening provided an excellent opportunity to foster goodwill and reinforce strategic maritime relations.
