Brig Gen Nwamba Takes Over Command Of 35 Artillery Brigade As 13th Commander

Brigadier General Godwin Nwamba has on 24 January 2025 taken over the command of 35 Artillery Brigade as the 13th Commander from Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu who is now proceeding to Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre as Deputy Director Air Defence Artillery.

Until his appointment as the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Nwamba was the Director of Administration at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja.

In his remarks during the handing and taking over ceremony at the Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade Alamala Abeokuta, the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu stated that it was a pleasure working with all the officers during the period of his tenure, saying that the two years he spent was a success to him and the Brigade. He commended the officers for their efforts and contributions to the success of the Brigade during his tenure as Commander.

He employed the officers to extend the same cooperation and double their effort for the incoming Commander to succeed. He charged the officers to be steadfast, discipline and continue to do their work the way they are supposed to do it.

He asked the Commanding Officers to convey his appreciation to their officers, soldiers and their families for their support throughout the period of his Command. He wished all the officers the best. He equally wished the Brigade to continue to excel in all her activities and operational endeavors.

Also speaking during the event, the incoming Commander, Brigadier General Nwamba congratulated Brigadier General Aminu for a successful tour of duty. He stated that he was happy that there was no negative incident that would have warranted the outgoing Commander to be investigated or accused of not having the welfare of his troops at heart.

He wished the outgoing Commander all the best as he reports to his new unit. He urged all the officers to give him the same support they accorded the outgoing Commander.

Highlights of the event were signing of the handing and taking over notes, decoration of the incoming Commander with the Brigade’s insignia and presentation of the command flag.
