Brig Gen Simon Partners Police, Other Security Agencies For Peace In Bauchi State

The Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Uchechukwu Simon, has pledged to work with the police and other security agencies to ensure peace and security in Bauchi State. He made this commitment during courtesy visits to the Bauchi State Police Command, State Security Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

General Simon emphasized the need for mutual understanding and collaboration among security agencies to guarantee public safety and security. He believes that partnership is crucial to achieving success and that no single agency can do it alone.

In his separate remarks, the Commissioner of Police, State Police Command, Auwal Musa Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the Commander for the visit and pledged to engage closely with the Brigade to rid the state of criminal elements who pose threat to lives and property of law-abiding citizens.

He said Bauchi State is relatively peaceful in terms of security challenges and stressed the need to maintain the level of synergy amongst the security stakeholders.

While at the State Department of Security Bauchi Command, the State Director of Security, Mr Nafiu Tukur Bello, said security is everybody’s business and promised to work closely with the Brigade through security information and intelligence sharing to protect the people of Bauchi. According to him, his organisation and the military have enjoyed a long standing synergy in the past and, promised to enhance the partnership.

Also, at the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the State Commandant, Mr Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde expressed appreciation to General Simon for the visit, saying the Army and his Agency have long standing level of understanding and collaboration through training and joint operations. He sought for the support of the Commander on arms training, maintaining that synergy is a panacea to peace.

Highlights of the visits included signing of visitors’ books by the Commander, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs amongst others
