Brigadier General Etuk Assumes Command Of Directorate Of Army Physical Training
Brigadier General Emem Etuk assumed command of the Directorate of Army Physical Training (DAPT) on Tuesday, 20 January 2025, as the Acting Director. Before his appointment, he was the Commandant of Army School of Physical Training, Zaria.
In a traditional military change of baton, Brigadier General Abduraheem Bello the immediate past Acting Director DAPT, handed over the reins of affair to Brigadier General Emem Etuk in continuity of the giant stride and repositioning of the directorate in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) vision which is to “To Consolidate the Transformation of the Nigerian Army Towards Bequeathing a Well-Motivated and Combat-Ready Force that can Effectively Discharge its Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment” .
Earlier in his farewell remarks, the immediate past Director, Brigadier General Bello thanked the COAS Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede for the opportunity given to him to contribute his quota to the physical training of the Nigerian Army troops to be fit and combat ready. He further commended and appreciated the efforts of Staff Officers, officers and civilian staffs of the Directorate for their commitment, loyalty and cooperation during his tour of duty and encouraged them to extend 100% of same commitment to his successor. He described his successor as a seasoned senior officer of the directorate, who he is confident will deliver on the task of leading the DAPT to the level.
Brigadier General Etuk, in his remarks during the ceremony, thanked his predecessor for working tirelessly to ensure the Directorate is uplifted, describing him as one of the shining stars the Directorate has produced.
He thanked the COAS for the opportunity to serve in the capacity as the Acting Director, while he charged the officers and soldiers of the directorate to increase their tempo and be proactive, as hard work is the only antidote for failure.
