​Brigadier General Osamede Adige Assumes Comand Of 26 Armoured Brigade

Brigadier General Osamede Odigie officially assumed duty as the 3rd Commander of the 26 Armoured Brigade, Dutse, Jigawa state on Friday, 6 February 2026. The new Commander takes over from Brigadier General Timinere J. Mackintosh, who has been posted to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji.

​In his valedictory remarks, the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Mackintosh, commended the officers and soldiers for their dedication and performance, which led to numerous milestones during his tenure. He urged the personnel to extend the same level of loyalty and professional support to his successor to ensure the continued success of the Brigade.

Upon assuming leadership, Brigadier General Osamede Odigie expressed his commitment to building on his predecessor’s achievements. He emphasized his readiness to prioritize capacity building to enhance the Brigade’s operational capabilities and, by extension, the Nigerian Army’s.

The Handing and Taking Over ceremony featured several key military traditions, including; the formal presentation of the Brigade’s Insignia. The symbolic lowering and hoisting of the Brigade Flag, marked the official change in leadership.
