President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) where a major decision on the contentious 2016 budget is expected to be taken.
The meeting, Buhari’s first with his ministers since returning from his landmark trip to China, started at exactly 11am inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Those in attendance include Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and majority of the ministers.
The President had refused to sign the budget bill passed by the Senate and House of Representatives three weeks ago before his trip to China insisting that the National Assembly provides more details about the effected changes, having reduced it by N17 billion making the final figure N6.06 trillion.
The present meeting is expected to finally resolve the controversies surrounding the Budget which had been misplaced, found, alleged to be padded and later rejected.
We’ll provide details as they unfold…
