Buhari is Recovering Fast and will Return Soon – Osinbajo

The acting president of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in a recent press briefing has intimated Nigerians about the health of the president; Muhammadu Buhari. The video of the briefing was posted on the official twitter handle of the office of the Nigerian president @NGRPresident.

Fielding questions from journalists, he stated that the reason for his visit was to check up on the president and also brief him on some of the developments taking place in the country. The vice president also assured Nigerians that the president would be back in the country very soon, as his health as greatly improved.

“Of course I’ve been speaking to him on the phone and I thought it would be a good thing to go and see him and generally check up on how he was doing and also to brief him on developments. We had a very good conversation on wide-ranging issues and he’s in very good spirits. He’s recuperating very quickly and he’s doing very well.”

He was asked if his discussion with the President addressed the suspended Secretary to the Government of the federation Babachir Lawal, on which he replied that his discussion with the president was on a wide range of issues, but he could not go into the specifics of the discussion.

“Wide ranging issues, I really can’t go into the specifics of all of the discussions,” he said

Despite his claims about the improved health of the president and him returning soon, when asked whether the president would return before 90 days he refused to respond in the affirmative, he rather reiterated that the president would be back soon.

“No dates have been fixed but like I said, he’s recuperating very fast and would be back shortly”
