Buhari’s Health Is Not As Bad As You Think – Aisha Buhari
Following a rising clamour for official disclosure of President Muhammadu Buhari’s health status, his wife, Mrs Aisha Buhari on Tuesday stated that his health was not as bad as perceived by many.
Anxiety over the president’s health grew in recent days after he failed to attend the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting last Wednesday. Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo presided over the meeting while information minister, Mr Lai Mohammed explained that the president chose to work from home for the day as he needed some rest.
The president also failed to make an appearance at the the Aso Rock mosque for the Friday prayers as he previously did. His continued absence from the public and particularly at Monday’s May Day rally in celebration of Workers’ Day sparked further concerns leading to a trending hashtag: #WhereIsBuhari.
In seeking to reassure Nigerians about the president’s health, Mrs Buhari stated that the president was scheduled to meet with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen and the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr Maikanti Baru.
I thank all Nigerians for their concern, love and prayers over my husband's health status. 1/4
