
Central Naval Command Holds Special Juma’at and Interdenominational Services To Celebrate 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day
On Friday, 9 January 2026 the Central Naval Command held a special Juma’at Service to celebrate the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day. The Juma’at service was attended by the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, alongside senior officers, ratings and members of the Muslim community. In his sermon, the Command Imam urged personnel to remain steadfast in service to God and the nation, while emphasizing the need for continuous prayers for the souls of fallen heroes.
Similarly, on Sunday, 11 January 2026, as part of activities to commemorate the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, the Central Naval Command held an Interdenominational Church services which was attended by senior officers, families and personnel of the Command, with the Command Logistics Officer, Capt AE Oche, representing the Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Sulieman Ibrahim. In his sermon, the Command’s Reverend Father reminded worshippers of their responsibility to serve God and country and encouraged support for the families of fallen service members.
The services formed part of the week-long activities dedicated to honouring the sacrifices of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
