Chairman Christian Chukwu Presents His Biography The Field Marshal To The COAS

The Former Captain of the Green Eagles, Chairman Christian Chukwu has on Monday 22 July 2024 presented a copy of his biography titled “The Field Marshal” to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja. The presentation was done during his courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA Major General Hassan Taiwo Dada.

The Captain of the Green Eagles who won the 1980 African Cup of Nations stated during the visit, that he was at the division to present a copy of his biography to the COAS through the General Officer Commanding. The book “the Field Marshal” which was officially launched to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the legend as a ranger player, Green Eagles Captain and the Coach that qualify the country for the first World Cup the USA 94 aptly captured the history of the legend and his football career and accomplishments.

While receiving the book on behalf of the COAS, the GOC stated that although the legend is not a war veteran but a Field Marshal on the football field. He further thank the Chairman as he is fondly called for all his contribution to football development in the country. He said the football legend lived a good life and made huge contributions to the development of football in African and globally. He therefore used the occasion to solicit for his support in engaging and talking to the youths to shun crime and criminality in the South East region and the Nation at large. He assured him that the book will be presented to the COAS.

Present at the presentation were Commanders and Principal Staff Officers of the Division. The highpoint of the event was the book presentation which was received on behalf of the COAS by the GOC
