Chairman Onigbongbo LCDA Visits Headquarters 9 Brigade – Seeks Enhanced Security Collaboration With The Brigade

The Newly sworn in Chairman, Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Honourable Moyosore Adebanjo, yesterday 19 August 2025, paid a courtesy visit to Commander 9 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA), Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola.

Honourable Moyosore Adebanjo said 9 Brigade is a critical stakeholder in the general well-being, security and development of the Council area, which necessitated his visit to establish a more robust, harmonious and understanding relationship with the Brigade. He further stated that the location of 9 Brigade in Onigbongbo made the area to be relatively peaceful and enhanced the physical and mental security of the populace with improved investment in various sectors, especially in real estate. He reiterated that with the large population of TA Lagbaja Cantonment, his administration is ready to capture the Cantonment’s interest in its community development projects and other social investments for inclusivity of governance. He concluded by soliciting the Brigade Commander’s readiness to respond to the council’s call for security help and interventions whenever they call on him.

In his response, Brigadier General Matthew Oyekola thanked the Onigbongbo LCDA Chairman for identifying with the Cantonment community and promised to double the Brigade’s response to security issues that concerns the community. He stated that 9 Brigade has always been enjoying the hospitality of the people of Onigbongbo and assured the Chairman that the initiative of the courtesy call would further strengthen the existing relationship between the Brigade and Onigbongbo LCDA.

The visit featured the presentation of souvenirs, interactions, and group photographs, among others.
