Change Of Baton: As Brigadier General Yahaya Hashim Ibrahim Assumes Command Of 402 Special Forces Brigade

‎Brigadier General Yahaya Hashim Ibrahim today Friday 6 March 2026, assumed duty as the 14th Commander 402 Special Forces Brigade (402SF BDE) Hq Northeast Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai (NE JTF OPHK). He took over command of the Brigade from Brigadier General Mohammed Bako Shehu who is proceeding on posting to Defence Intelligence Agency, Abuja.

‎Speaking during the handing and taking over ceremony held at the Headquarters 402 SF Bde, Brig Gen YH Ibrahim thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu (Nigerian Army Medal) for the trust repose in him to serve in the new capacity. He urged officers and men of the Brigade to remain professional and resilient in carrying out their duties.

‎In his farewell address, the outgoing Commander, Brig Gen Shehu thanked God Almighty for a successful tour of duty and appreciated the COAS for the privilege granted him to serve at the Brigade. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to officers and men under command for their support and loyalty during his tour of duty, urging them to replicate more support to his successor.

‎Some of the event highlights are presentation of brief, signing of handing and taking over note, tour around the Brigade, handing over the command flag, inspection of Quarter Guard, among others.
