Change Of Baton As Major General TT Numbere Becomes The 35th Commander Corps Of Engineers

Major General Tonye Thanks Numbere has assumed duty as the 35th Commander Corps of Engineers (CCE) today Tuesday 21 January 2025. He took over command of the corps from Major General Philip Ehizokhale Eromosele who is proceeding on posting to Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Center Abuja.

Speaking during the handing and taking over ceremony held at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Engineers, Major General Numbere thanked the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede for the rare privilege afforded him to serve in the new capacity. He described the appointment as home coming and urged officers’ and men of the corps to remain professional.

He thanked the outgoing CCE for the role he played in moving the corps to enviable its current heights and pledged to consolidate on the achievements.

In his farewell address, the former CCE, Major General Eromosele thanked God Almighty and appreciated the COAS for the privilege to have served as CCE and expressed his gratitude to officers’ and men under command for their support and loyalty during his tour of duty. He urged them to give his successor more support than he enjoyed.

Highlights of the event were briefs by Directors, Cell heads, signing of handing and taking over note, handing over the command flag and inspection of Quarter Guard.
