Chief Of Administration Embarks On Familiarisation Tour Of Nigerian Navy Establishments In Western Naval Command

On Thursday 13 March 2025, the Chief of Administration (COA), Rear Admiral GSM Aligwe embarked on a familiarisation tour of Nigerian Navy (NN) establishments in Western Naval Command’s Area of Responsibility including Nigerian Navy Secondary Schools and Medical facilities. The purpose of this tour is to afford the COA first hand information of these units and their operability. This is with a view to bring succour, intervention and better management where necessary.

The COA’s first point of call was Headquarters Western Naval Western Naval Command, Apapa, Lagos where he was received by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command (FOC WEST), Rear Admiral MG Oamen. In his remarks, the COA informed the FOC West of his visit to Lagos to inspect the NN hospitals, schools, and detention facilities while conducting on-the-spot assessments to provide Naval Headquarters with accurate observations and insights on policies and directives aimed at enhancing quality service delivery.
In response, the FOC WEST noted the crucial role of COA roles in the management of human and material resources.
He emphasised that the visit is of great importance and key to the achievement of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla’s Strategic Directives.

Also, the team visited the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital Ojo, Nigerian Navy Secondary School (NNSS) Ojo, Obisesan Naval Medical Center Apapa, NNSS Abeokuta and Ogbomosho. Others include Nigerian Navy College of Health Sciences, Offa, Nigerian Navy Centre of Education Training Technology, Ile-Ife and Naval Medical Centre Victoria Island Lagos.
