
Chief Of Air Staff Supports Innovation and Multi-Source Intelligence For A Safer, Stronger Nigeria
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on 24 November 2025, joined the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Lieutenant General EAP Undiandeye and other key national security stakeholders at the Chief of Defence Intelligence Annual Conference themed “Multi-Source Intelligence and Innovation in a Changing National Security Ecosystem.” The CAS’s participation complements these high-level calls, aligning seamlessly with his vision of intelligence-led, smart operations anchored on a proactive safety culture to ensure NAF missions remain precise, adaptive, and safe for personnel and civilians.
In his opening remarks, the Honourable Minister of Defence, Dr Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, underscored the complex and evolving security challenges facing the nation, stressing that they demand collective action, synergy, and shared commitment across all security institutions. Delivering the keynote address, the Special Guest of Honour, the Senate President, His Excellency Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, ably represented by Senator Ahmad Lawan, Chairman Senate Committee on Defence, emphasized the critical role of multi-source intelligence, innovation, and strategic partnerships in strengthening Nigeria’s defence posture.
Air Marshal Aneke reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to leveraging innovation, emerging technologies, and strategic partnerships to enhance capacity development, operational resilience, and national security outcomes. He noted that an improved intelligence architecture, powered by advanced surveillance capabilities, data fusion systems, and indigenous research, will significantly enhance mission effectiveness and reinforce public confidence. The CAS assured Nigerians that the NAF, working in close synergy with other Services, legislative stakeholders, and intelligence agencies, remains fully dedicated to delivering smart, decisive, and responsible airpower in the collective effort to build a safer and more secure Nigeria.
