Chief of Army Staff Hosts Executives Of NIM, Strengthens Professional Ties With The Institute

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, hosted the President of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Commodore Abimbola Ayuba, alongside executive members of the Institute, at Abalti Barracks, Lagos.

The President of the Institute showered encomiums on the Chief of Army Staff’s leadership that brought pride to the Institute as a distinguished member of the professional body. He described the appointment of Lieutenant General Shaibu as the 25th Chief of Army Staff as a proud moment for the Institute and its members. He assured the COAS of the Institute’s continued support to the Nigerian Army in its efforts to contain the prevailing security challenges in the country.

He further stated that the Institute was proud to have one of its members serving as the Chief of Army Staff, describing Lieutenant General Shaibu as an astute professional. He also commended the Nigerian Army for its sustained efforts in maintaining peace and security nationwide.

In his response, the Chief of Army Staff expressed appreciation to the President and executive members of the Institute for the visit, stating that his membership of the professional body is one he holds in high esteem. He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the values and virtues of the Institute in the discharge of his responsibilities.

The COAS further stated that the Nigerian Institute of Management remains one of the foremost professional bodies in the country, with membership cutting across all professions and spheres of life. He noted that he would continue to uphold the Institute’s values while navigating the prevailing security challenges and managing the affairs of the Nigerian Army. The Army Boss solicited the Institute’s support and prayers towards the restoration of peace and security in areas currently facing challenges.

Present during the visit were the Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Oluyemi Olatoye, the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Bamidele Alabi and other senior officers.
