I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all officers, soldiers and their families on the blessed occasion of the Easter Celebration and on completing the Lenten Season in this Year 2025. The Easter Season is a period for retrospection, spiritual rebirth, self-reflection and renewal of a commitment to uphold the ideals of humanity. It also symbolises a period of sacrifice and unwavering dedication to the values of our calling as soldiers of the Nigerian Army, where duty, honour and loyalty to our beloved nation remain our topmost priority. As our Christian brothers commemorate the Passion of Jesus Christ which this period represents, the disposition to our professional duties have remained steadfast. Thus, I sincerely appreciate the officers and soldiers who have continued to operate under arduous conditions in the various theatres across the nation. In the course of carrying out your duties, I deeply acknowledge that some of our brave personnel have made the supreme sacrifice.
Nevertheless, be assured that under my leadership, the Nigerian Army will remain poised to prioritise the welfare of personnel and their families, including those of our fallen heroes to whom we owe a lasting debt of gratitude. These sacrifices, resolve and unflinching commitment remain a beacon of hope to Nigerians all over the world and a recognition that a safe, secure and prosperous nation is our collective duty and responsibility. Just as Easter signifies victory over death, our relentless efforts as an Army symbolise triumph over forces that seek to undermine our national security and stability.
Permit me to use this opportunity to remind us that we have always found strength in our diversity. The core of our unity has always been our ability to understand each other’s challenges and strengths. This has been an undertaking that enables us to collectively hold back those individuals and groups that choose to disrupt the sanctity of that unity in an attempt to erode the growth and stability of our society. I encourage you all to continue in this stead, united and with our heads held up high as we safeguard our present position to build a better tomorrow. To our gallant troops in the frontlines, I doff my hat to you and appreciate your unwavering efforts to keep our country safe. I equally extend this gratitude to the personnel of the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Airforce, other security agencies and every single person that has made it a selfless duty to ensure that the sovereignty of our great nation must prevail. Let us not forget our fallen heroes, for it is upon their sacrifices that we revel in prosperity and freedom today. May their memories never fade and their legacies endure forever.
Finally, I express my profound gratitude to his Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strategic guidance, unwavering support and timely intervention in addressing our administrative and operational needs. Let me also appreciate the Nigerian public for their undaunting belief in the Nigerian Army and their untiring support across all theatres of our operations. The Nigerian Army remains strongly committed to ensuring the safety of every Nigerian Citizen and friend of our great nation. We shall continue to weather the storm and our resolve to discharging our constitutional role will never diminish so long as we continue to draw breath. As it is said, a tree cannot make a forest and so it is well understood that we cannot do it alone. Hence, it behoves on every Nigerian citizen to protect the virtues of our nation. In this vein, the Nigerian Army will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders to foster a joint and multi-agency environment to effectively secure our national wealth and heritage at all times.
Once again, I urge all personnel to celebrate responsibly while maintaining the highest level of alertness and professionalism. May the Easter bring peace, joy and divine blessings to you and your loved ones. Happy Easter, and God bless.
