Chief Of Army Staff Pays Operational Visit To Headquarters JTF South-South Operation Delta Safe

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, during an operational visit to 6 Division Area of Responsibility, paid an operational visit to the Force Commander, Joint Task Force South-South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Rear Admiral OBF Oladipo, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on Thursday 8 January 2026. The strategic engagement focused on strengthening inter-agency collaboration and fashioning effective modalities to safeguard the nation’s critical oil and gas infrastructure, with a view to enhancing security, stabilising the operating environment and boosting economic development in the Niger Delta region.

The COAS was accompanied by the Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army and Land Component Commander, South-South, Joint Task Force Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General EE Emekah and other formation Commanders within 6 Division AOR.
