Chief Of Naval Staff Marks Birthday Today
Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla was born on 20 December 1968. He graduated from the prestigious Nigerian Military School Zaria in 1987 as the Best Graduating Student in Sciences. In 1992, he graduated from the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna with a BSc in Mathematics and was awarded the Sword of Honour as the Best Graduating Naval Cadet in academics, military training, leadership qualities and character. Vice Admiral Ogalla is a specialist hydrographer who attended the National Hydrographic School Goa, India from 1999 – 2000.
He later graduated from the National Defence College Abuja in 2014 with excellent grades after writing a highly commendable thesis on “Water Resources Management and National Development”. Thereafter, in 2015 he bagged an MSc in Strategic Studies at the University of Ibadan and returned to the National Defence College as a Directing Staff in 2017. Being an erudite scholar and intellectual, he was elevated to the post of Director Academic Research and Analytical Support where he contributed immensely to improving the research programmes in the College. Vice Admiral Ogalla was appointed Chief of the Naval Staff, Nigerian Navy in June 2023.
Today, all the officers, ratings and civilian staff of the Nigerian Navy celebrate the birth of a leader whose simple but firm and purposeful leadership style has remarkably improved the welfare, administration and operational capacity of the Nigerian Navy.
