Chief Of The Naval Staff Visit To Operation Enduring Peace

On Wednesday, 24 December 2025, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas (Admiralty Medal), represented by the Director Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate (DPIMED), Rear Admiral MY Dahiru, conducted an operational visit to the Nigerian Navy (NN) contingent deployed under Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) in Jos, Plateau State. Upon arrival, the team paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding, 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General EF Oyinlola.

During the visit, the DPIMED delivered CNS’ goodwill message, while encouraging and motivating NN personnel deployed within the OPEP Joint Operations Area. It also afforded the team the opportunity to assess the contributions of NN personnel to the operation and to identify prevailing operational and welfare challenges affecting mission effectiveness.

Furthermore, Rear Admiral Dahiru commended the troops on behalf of the CNS, thanking them for their dedication, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to duty. He highlighted the ongoing efforts of the CNS to address personnel welfare and reminded them of the importance of upholding the NN’s core values of Professionalism, Teamwork and Integrity.
